SCHOOL & COMMUNITY

Many hands make art work!

To play part in a school or community project is a profound experience. The process from design to completion brings an outcome that is a surprise to the end for all involved.

If your local School or Community group is interested in starting up an art project in your local area, please send me an enquiry.

One Land Two Seasons
Where it all began... In colaboration with the schools Aborginal and Islander Education Officer, the concept of the design was decided to be "one land two seasons"one being the Nyoongar Aboriginal Culture and the other Australian Farming. The common theme to both was the landscape which became the background to the mural. A sketch was updated to help students visualise what to expect from one stage to the next and to help with understanding how both cultures live off the one land conceptualising what takes place from one season to the next. Classes from pre-primary to year 10 participated, total of 148 students within the timeframe of 11 - 45 minute sessions.
Naidoc Day 2013
In celebrating Naidoc 2013 a collaboration project with Dalwallinu District High School, Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer Sally Galbraith, and 105 students from years 4 to year 10, provided the opportunity for a unique display. In respect of past Naidoc celebrations, previous years titles became the centre of the piece. Timeframe allocation - 3x 30 minute sessions
